Women Empowering Women for Business Success!

We are an organization that assists women business owners expand their business! The Sussex/Warren Chapter of NJAWO offers business in those counties an opportunity to network with other women business owners and expand their relationships. We are a chapter with 60+ strong and continue to grow. We offer a wide variety of business owners the opportunity to network with attorney, printers, accountants, coaches, health oriented professional, and much more. We also offer to our membership the opportunity to expand their network and reach out to people who they trust and can call at a moments notice with a business related question.

The Sussex-Warren Chapter works hard to support the women in our counties and beyond. Here are some of the benefits we provide to build our members businesses in the counties:

Monthly educational meetings with informative speakers and networking opportunities.
 
Develop relationships with our membership to increase their companies reach.
 
Mentor our members by developing the skills necessary to operate a successful business.
 
Utilize the training available through NJAWBO's Women's Business Center.
 
Keep our membership informed on issues impacting today's women business owners through our     Public Policy initiatives.
 
Provide a legislative voice for women at a federal and state level.

Monthly Chapter Meetings
The Sussex-Warren Chapter holds monthly chapter dinner meetings in January through July and September through December. Non-members may attend a total of three Chapter meetings. NJAWBO members may attend other NJAWBO Chapter meetings throughout the state at member rates, providing expanded networking opportunities. Please visit our Events page for specific dates and topics. Breakfast Meetings
The Sussex-Warren Chapter holds a breakfast meeting every month. The breakfast meetings are BYOB and there is no fee. Reservations are not required. Please visit our Events page for specific dates and topics. (Next Breakfast Meeting: Sussex)

Committees
Committees work can be quite rewarding and helps to strengthen the organization. By working on a committee or special project you will have an opportunity to expand your network, develop strong ties with members, become more visible within the organization and have an opportunity to hone various skills. This is an excellent way to "get your feet wet" by learning more about various Chapter activities without making a full time commitment. It can also be, in many cases, an excellent way to showcase your talents and abilities.

Speaking Opportunities
Come to our meetings and join other business owners to share experience and expertise. We'd love to hear from you! If you would like to facilitate one of our breakfast meetings let us know. If you have a topic of interest to other women business owners then let us know. The breakfast meeting presentations are typically 15-20 minutes with time for discussion following. They have each been informative and useful in the past. I'm sure you have a wealth of information you could share. Woman's Business Achievement Annual Scholarship Application

Sponsor A Speaker Program

Chambers of Commerce
Our chapter is a member of both the Sussex & Warren Chambers of Commerce. We are able to send members to their meetings each month. Membership Directory
Membership directories are issued to the members on a periodic basis. You must update your profile on-line at the state web site.

Education
Programs consist of entrepreneurial training classes offered through the Women's Business Center of New Jersey by NJAWBO. Information about classes is posted on the WBC Web site. Also see our chapter's listing of the Upcoming Schedule.

State Level "Link-Me" Program
Please check the State site for up-to-date details but at last check:
$50.00 for a term of one year. Included with the link is a short description of your company or service. The link and your information will be listed on the "Members Websites" section of www.njawbo.org and is accessible by both members and the general public.

Other Chapter Meetings
As a NJAWBO member, you may attend other NJAWBO Chapter meetings throughout the state at member rates, providing expanded networking opportunities.

State Conference
NJAWBO holds an annual state wide conference once a year which is a three day event that includes workshops, an awards dinner, and prominent speakers. Be sure to visit our State Chapter for more information.

UNPAID Interns to NJAWBO Members
William Patterson University will assist NJAWBO members by providing UNPAID Interns to NJAWBO Members. All members (including home-based businesses and sole proprietors) are eligible to get an intern; however, we strongly recommend you look into Workman’s Compensation Insurance to protect your business and yourself, before having someone working on your site. Anyone interested in getting an intern should simply send an email to interns@njawbo.org. This first program starts in April 2007, and will keep expanding as other Universities and Colleges are added later.
