March 29, 2008
Thanks to
determination, creativity, hard work, and just plain faith, the 2008 Business Boot Camp was a resounding
success. Mary Adelman and Dolores Stammer share the most credit as event co-chairs and the key
people behind the show. Donna Price, Anne Blaine, Cheryl Fodor, Dottie Williams, Kathy
Miller, Melinda McCoy-Miller, Shannon LoBue, and Marlene Davitt make up the rest of the boot camp committee,
board members, and volunteers who directly shared in the work and support for the event. The
event would not have been possible without the generosity of our amazing partner--Centenary College
and the Centenary SBDC.
The Seay Administrative Building is a beautiful setting for our dinner meetings and the boot camp, and,
as usual, the food was delicious. We kindly acknowledge Heather Dunham, Centenary's Dean for
Business and Education, for her belief in NJAWBO and the SBDC's Office Manager Bernadette Beers and all
the Centenary students who played a role in marketing, advertising, organizing, and preparing for the day.
The generous corporate donations from Verizon and The U.S. Postal Service insured that the chapter
covered all production costs. A donation from chapter sponsor Lakeland Bank and advertising
from The New Jersey Herald will help us continue to publicize our chapter locally and provide programming.
And finally, we thank our NJAWBO state and regional friends for their assistance and support with promotion
and corporate sponsorship, and to all NJAWBO members for spreading the word and sending us your best wishes.
These evaluation remarks summarize the day, "Great Seminar! Great Speakers! Very informative. All
stuff, not fluff. Sound practical advice." If anyone doubts the value of our chapter's signature
event, this second boot camp has surely proven them wrong. With double attendance and positive feedback,
the results point the way to future successful events.
